Medigap Plan M is very similar to a Medigap Plan D. It offers, all the same coverage with the exception of the Part A Deductible. With a Plan M Medicare Supplement, the insurance company pays half the deductible, and you pay the remaining half. In 2016, the Part A Deductible is $1,288 per benefit period.

Plan M covers 7 of the 9 Medicare Supplement Benefits.

* A benefit period begins when you receive services as an inpatient in a hospital. It ends after you have been out of the hospital and have not received skilled care in other facility for 60 consecutive days. All Part A copayments and deductibles start new with the beginning of each new benefit period.
